Who is this for?
- Administrators responsible for compliance and data governance.

Permissions and licenses
- Page restricted to people allowed to change company settings.
- Requires the Governance add-on, which can be enabled on any plan; without it, the lists are visible but greyed out.
- The maximum period available depends on your plan: up to 6 months on the Starter plan, up to 2 years beyond that.
How to use it
Open the page
Go to Settings > Governance > Storage.
Choose a period per data type
The Storage limits block offers one list per data type: Video, Audio, Transcript and AI insights.
Periods range from Do not keep to several years. The transcript and AI insights additionally accept the Unlimited value, which is their default.
Respect the hierarchy of periods
The periods are not independent, so that derived data is never kept longer than its source:
- Audio cannot be kept for less time than video.
- The transcript and AI insights cannot be kept for less time than audio.
If your choice contradicts this rule, Leexi automatically realigns the period concerned.
Enable the no-media-retention mode
The Never keep recordings setting permanently deletes audio and video as soon as the AI analysis is complete. The files are never made available, and only the transcript and the AI insights remain accessible.
This mode applies to every meeting, including those created through the API, and also deletes the recordings of all existing calls. It is irreversible: no recovery or regeneration is possible. An explicit confirmation is therefore required.
Choosing Do not keep for both video and audio amounts to the same result: Leexi then offers to enable this mode directly.
As long as it is active, the Video and Audio lists stay greyed out.
Going further
- A short period on video and audio reduces data exposure without depriving you of the transcript or the summaries.
- Deletion is carried out by a daily job, so data may survive a few hours beyond the chosen period.
- The periods apply to the whole company: there is no per-team or per-user retention.
Frequently asked questions
Things to watch out for
- Shortening a period also applies to calls already recorded: data beyond the new limit is deleted at the job's next run.
- The no-media-retention mode immediately deletes the existing recordings of the whole company.
- With no audio or video kept, it becomes impossible to listen to a passage again or to regenerate a summary from the recording.
